A Centre County contracting company one of the largest in the state is charged with stealing millions of dollars from their employees benefit payments to increase company profits.
“This is the largest violation of Pennsylvania prevailing wage act laws in U.S. history”
Thats how Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro sums up the case against Glenn O Hawbaker Inc. Corporation based in State College. The company does road and other construction statewide, late last year they finished up a 80 million dollar project upgrading 322 in Potters Mills.
In a criminal complaint that read like a complicated accounting investigation, the company is accused of stealing funds from workers retirement, health and welfare accounts
The four charges involved are only filed against the Glenn O Hawbaker Corporation, CEO Dan Hawbaker, or no other individual employees are indicted. Shapiro says the investigation is continuing, and at this point the company is cooperating.
