State police in Bedford have released new details regarding the homicide investigation in Kimmel Township.
Troopers say 41-year-old Larry Claar was arrested Sunday and charged with homicide in the shooting death of his brother, 46-year-old Michael Claar.
Investigators say Claar reportedly shot and killed his brother at a residence along the 200 block of Picnic Road, and then attempted to hide the body by transporting it to a nearby field.
Police say Claar also attempted to clean the scene, as well as the vehicle used to transport his brother’s body.
Claar was arrested in Hollidaysburg around 10:30 a.m. Sunday and has since been arraigned to the Bedford County Prison.
He also faces charges of first and third degree murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
His bail was denied.
