A Clearfield County man accused of setting fire to a Coalport home last year, which resulted in the death of another man, has been convicted.
A jury found Jonathan Gallaher, 37, guilty Friday on all charges he faced, including criminal homicide, arson, and causing catastrophe.
Gallaher was charged in April of last year, accused of setting fire to a home, located along the 600 block of Main Street in Coalport, on the night of April 16, 2021.
The blaze resulted in the death of 33-year-old Matthew Troxell.
The homeowners, who were friends of both Gallaher and Troxell, testified earlier this week that a drunken altercation between they and Gallaher led to him setting the fire.
Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers says closing arguments wrapped up Friday morning, with the jury deliberating for approximately two hours.
A sentencing date has not yet been announced.
