Neighbors and friends of Hunter and Harley, the two teens killed in this morning’s fire, gathered here outside of the Clearfield County Courthouse for a prayer vigil in their memory.
Jim Kane with the Clearfield Fire Department says he announced the vigil just this Afternoon, and over 100 residents, including the Mayor, District Attorney, and some County Commissioners.
According to friends, neighbors, and school officials, Hunter and Harley, who were in grades 12 and 10, were heavily involved in their school and community.
Clearfield Area School District Superintendent Terry Struble says the teens were both part of the school’s Music program, and Hunter was a welding student at the local tech school.
We spoke to a friend of the teens who says she remembers them fondly from school band.
We also spoke with Fire Department Chaplain Jim Kane, who says he organized this vigil in their memory.
Visitors here took part in a moment of silence and prayer for Hunter and Harley.
Those in attendance say that now is more important than ever for the Clearfield Community to come together.
“They were just two really sweet people that didn’t deserve anything like this.”
“God put it on my heart that we really need to pray for the family…prayers and support to go mother and friends and family”
Kaine also says that residents should keep those who responded to the fire in their thoughts and prayers.
