Conklin Domestic Violence Legislation

An area state lawmaker is proposing that anyone convicted of domestic violence would not be able hold public office

State Representative Scott Conklin is proposing the legislation saying its a matter of integrity and trust, for those holding public office. In Centre County last year alone, more than 15 hundred cases of domestic violence were reported with the pandemic adding unique challenges

“And so if there was something bad happening at home, it stayed at home. that was true for domestic violence as well.we know sexual and domestic violnece are always under reported. the under reporting was even more significant during the pandemic.”

Representative Conklin’s proposal would require a Constitutional Amendment to be enacted
