COVID-19 Update April 11th

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 3,362 new Coronavirus cases in the state Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 1,072,336 Health Officials say 90% of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered. State Health Officials also reported three more Coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 25,405. According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,460 people are hospitalized with the Virus across Pennsylvania and and 516 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Here Locally, 232 new cases were reported in our viewing area. Centre reported an increase of 71 new cases, Blair reported 53, Cambria reported 28, Somerset reported 24, Clearfield reported 22, Bedford reported 13, Huntingdon reported 8, Jefferson reported 7 and Elk reported six new cases. No new cases were reported in Cameron County. No additional deaths were reported in our viewing area.

Here’s a look at the Vaccination Data from our 10 County viewing area. Elk County continues to lead the way with the highest percentage of the population vaccinated. Bedford County is still at the bottom of the list with 12% of the County vaccinated. Starting Monday, Pennsylvanians who qualify in Phase 1C will be eligible to recieve the COVID-19 Vaccine.
