COVID-19 Update April 25th

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 3,162 new Coronavirus cases in the State Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 1,134,176. Health Officials say 89% of the State’s total cases are considered to be recovered. State Health Officials reported 5 more Coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 25,988. According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,561 people are hospitalized with the Virus across Pennsylvania and and 544 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Here Locally, 183 new cases were reported in our viewing area. Centre reported an increase of 58 new cases, Blair reported 38, Cambria reported 23, Somerset reported 21, Clearfield reported 18, Bedford reported 10, Huntingdon reported 6, Elk reported 5, Jefferson reported 3 and Cameron reported one new case.

No new deaths were reported in our region.

As for Vaccinations, Elk and Cameron County are at the top of the list for the highest percentage of Residents who are fully vaccinated. Right behind are Cambria, Centre and Jefferson Counties with 29% of the County vaccinated.
