COVID-19 Update December 20th

Here is a rundown of the latest Coronavirus numbers in the State as of the reporting on Sunday, December 20th. The Department of Health added 7,213 Coronavirus cases to it’s Statewide totals, as Pennsylvania surpassed 550,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. 61% of those cases are now considered to be recovered. 99 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the Death Toll to 13,924. The number of Hospitalizations dropped slightly, with 6,074 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. Of those patients, 1,230 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

601 new cases were reported in our 10-County viewing area. Cambria County reported an increase of 172 cases. Somerset had 127, Blair reported 88, Centre had 70, Clearfield had 46, Bedford reports 40, Jefferson had 25, Huntingdon had 19, Elk had 9, and Cameron reports five new cases. There were 5 more COVID-19 related deaths reported by the Department of Health in our viewing area. Centre reported 2. Blair, Cambria and Huntingdon Counties reported 1.
