After back to back record breaking days, the latest Coronavirus numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of Health dropped slightly on Sunday. The Department of Health added 8,630 Coronavirus cases to it’s Statewide totals according to the Department’s dashboard as Pennsylvania surpassed 420,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic.
69 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the death toll to 11,331. As of Saturday, 5,230 patients are were hospitalized with COVID-19 in PA. That’s more than at any other time this year. Of those patients, 1,065 are in the Intensive Care Unit. The State is also reporting 58% of the reported cases are considered recovered. That’s down from marks in the 80-89% range just a few months ago.
696 new cases were reported in our 10-County viewing area. Cambria County reported an increase of 195 cases one day after reporting it’s highest single day mark to date. Centre reports 113 cases, Blair had 109, Somerset had reports 96, Clearfield had 52, Bedford had 50 cases, Jefferson reports 32 additional cases, Elk reports 30 and Huntingdon had 19.
Blair County is also reporting 5 more deaths on Sunday. Cambria reported three deaths. Centre, Jefferson and Somerset Counties each reported two deaths. Bedford and Clearfield Counties are reporting one death each.
