COVID-19 Update January 17th

The Department of Health added 6,023 more cases to it’s Statewide totals. Pennsylvania has seen more than 767,000 cases since the start of the Pandemic. 76% of those cases are now considered to be recovered, which was the same number reported Saturday. 122 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the Commonwealth, bringing the Death Toll to over 19,300. 4,614 people are currently hospitalized, which is just slightly lower than the number we saw Saturday. Of those patients, 945 of those people are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There were 350 new COVID-19 cases reported in our viewing area. Blair reported an increase of 88 new cases, Centre reported 70, Cambria reported 51, Clearfield and Somerset each reported 36, Huntingdon reported 26, Bedford reported 18, Elk reported 14 and Jefferson reported 11 new cases. No new cases were reported in Cameron County.

There were 19 new COVID-19 deaths reported in our viewing area. Cambria reported 7 additional, Blair reported 4, Centre, Clearfield and Huntingdon each reported 2 and Jefferson and Somerset each reported one more death.
