COVID-19 Update March 13th

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an additional 2,840 new Coronavirus cases bringing the Statewide total to 964,296. 92% of the State’s total cases are considered to be recovered. The State reported 43 more Coronavirus-related deaths bringing the death toll to 24,573.

According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,442 people are hospitalized with the Virus across Pennsylvania and and 307 are in the Intensive Care Unit. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.

Locally, 164 new cases were reported. Centre reported an increase of 48 new cases, Cambria reported 36, Clearfield reported 31, Somerset reported 16, Blair reported 15,. Bedford reported 8, Huntingdon and Jefferson each reported 4 new cases and Elk reported two new cases. No new cases were reported in Cameron County.

There were two additional deaths reported in Cambria County. Centre County also reported one additional death.
