COVID-19 Update March 14th

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 1,914 new Coronavirus cases in the State Sunday, bringing the Statewide total to 966,210. 92% of the State’s total cases are considered to be recovered, The same as Saturday’s number. State Health Officials also reported 43 more Coronavirus-related deaths on Saturday, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,573. According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,433 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 295 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Here locally, there have been 63,388 confirmed cases in our 10-County viewing area since the start of the Pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,616 deaths.

83 new cases were reported in our viewing area Sunday. Centre reported an increase of 53 new cases, Clearfield reported 11, Blair reported 9, Cambria and Huntingdon each reported 6 new cases, Somerset reported 4, Bedford reported 2, and Elk and Jefferson each reported one new case. No new cases were reported in Cameron County.
