5,610 new cases were added to the Department of Health’s Dashboard on Saturday across Pennsylvania. That puts the 7-day average above 5,000 – which is the highest mark we’ve seen since February 2nd. The State Dashboard’s Death Toll was not updated on Saturday, but the Commonwealth has been averaging more than 90 deaths per day since Tuesday. That means we’re on track to cross the 30,000 mark this upcoming week. The number of people hospitalized remains stable.
As for our 10-County viewing area, 480 new cases were reported on Saturday. Cambria County is leading the way with over 100 new cases alone. All Counties in our area are reporting well into the double digits — besides Cameron County.
With case numbers rising again in Pennsylvania, all Counties are continuing to have that “high rate” of community transmission. That’s the highest category according to the CDC, meaning masking is still recommended indoors.
