Every state has a consumer protection law that prohibits deceptive sales practices, and while most businesses are run legitimately, consumers must be on the lookout for unscrupulous merchants. Michelle Nutter from the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General joins us to discuss these deceptive practices.
If you believe you have been the victim of one of these deceptive sales practices or if a rent-to-own company violates the Rental Agreement Act, contact the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection at 1-800-441-2555 or consumers@attorneygeneral.gov or by filing a complaint online at www.attorneygeneral.gov.
