The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 3,378 new coronavirus cases in the state Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 880,291 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Eighty-five percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 125 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 22,745.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,789 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 569 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 66,579 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,928 deaths.
Two hundred and thirty new cases and 10 more deaths were reported in our viewing area.
Cambria reported an increase of 53 new cases since Wednesday, Centre reported 43, Huntingdon reported 38, Clearfield reported 30, Blair reported 20, Elk reported 13, Somerset reported 12, Jefferson reported 11 and Bedford reported 10.
As for deaths, Blair reported four more while Centre and Somerset each reported two more.
Cambria and Elk each reported one more death.
According to the Department of Health, 3,725,236 patients have tested negative for the virus.
