The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 3,978 new coronavirus cases in the state Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 884,269 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Eighty-six percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 115 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 22,860.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,687 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 538 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 66,840 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,932 deaths.
Two hundred and sixty-one new cases and four more deaths were reported in our viewing area.
Centre reported an increase of 74 Thursday, Cambria reported 59, Clearfield reported 44, Blair reported 29, Somerset reported 20, Jefferson reported 12, Huntingdon reported 11, Bedford reported seven, Elk reported three and Cameron reported two.
As for deaths, Cambria reported two more,
Blair and Centre each reported one more death.
According to the Department of Health, 3,735,776 patients have tested negative for the virus.
