DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 3,413 new coronavirus cases in the state Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 902,650 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Eighty-eight percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 193 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,319, according to the department’s COVID-19 dashboard.

According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,174 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 465 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There have been 67,819 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,957 deaths.

Two hundred new cases and seven more deaths were reported in our viewing area Wednesday.

Centre reported an increase of 73 new cases, Cambria reported 33, Clearfield reported 32, Huntingdon reported 18, Blair reported 13, Jefferson reported 10, Bedford and Somerset reported seven, Elk reported six and Cameron reported one.

As for deaths, Blair reported three, Cambria reported two and Clearfield and Jefferson reported one more each.

According to the Department of Health, 3,791,021 patients have tested negative for the virus.
