DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 3,345 new coronavirus cases in the state Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 905,995 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Eighty-eight percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 94 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,413.

According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,124 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 467 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There have been 68,008 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,960 deaths.

One hundred and eighty-nine new cases and three more deaths were reported in our viewing area Thursday.

Centre reported an increase of 75 new cases, Cambria reported 31, Blair reported 30, Clearfield reported 22, Somerset reported 12, Elk reported eight, Huntingdon reported six, Jefferson reported three and Bedford reported two.

As for deaths, Cambria, Huntingdon and Jefferson reported one each.

According to the Department of Health, 3,799,916 patients have tested negative for the virus.
