DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,778 new coronavirus cases in the state Friday, bringing the statewide total to 908,773 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Eighty-eight percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 67 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,480.

According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,061 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 441 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There have been 68,205 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,964 deaths.

One-hundred ninety-seven new cases and four more deaths were reported in our viewing area.

Centre reported an increase of 50 new cases, Cambria reported 39, Huntingdon reported 31, Blair reported 23, Jefferson reported 16, Clearfield reported 14, Somerset reported 12, Bedford reported 8, Elk reported 3 and Cameron reported one new case.

As for deaths, Blair reported two additional while Bedford and Clearfield each reported one.

According to the Department of Health, 3,807,727 patients have tested negative for the virus.
