DOH COVID-19 Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,818 new coronavirus cases in the state Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 911,591 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.

Eighty-nine percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.

State health officials also reported 90 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,570.

According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,060 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 443 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

There have been 68,371 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,968 deaths.

One-hundred sixty-six new cases and four more deaths were reported in our viewing area.

Cambria reported an increase of 58 new cases, Centre reported 36, Blair reported 24, Clearfield and Somerset each reported 16, Elk and Jefferson each reported 5, Bedford reported 3, Huntingdon reported 2 and Cameron reported one new case.

As for deaths, Blair, Cambria, Centre and Jefferson each reported one additional death.

According to the Department of Health, 3,815,778 patients have tested negative for the virus.
