The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,786 new coronavirus cases in the state Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 920,634 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Eighty-nine percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 76 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,787.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,972 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 433 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 68,910 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,977 deaths.
One hundred and thirty-two new cases were reported in our viewing area Wednesday along with three more deaths.
Centre reported an increase of 43 new cases, Clearfield reported 26, Cambria reported 18, Blair reported 11, Somerset and Huntingdon each reported 10, Jefferson reported six, Elk reported four, Bedford reported three and Cameron reported one.
According to the Department of Health, 3,843,793 patients have tested negative for the virus.
