The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 3,346 new coronavirus cases in the state Friday, bringing the statewide total to 926,336 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 69 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 23,937.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,897 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 403 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 69,163 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,983 deaths.
One hundred and fifty-three new cases were reported in our viewing area Friday.
Centre and Cambria each reported an increase of 39 new cases, Blair reported 18, Clearfield and Huntingdon each reported 16, Somerset reported 10, Elk reported eight, Jefferson reported four and Bedford reported three.
As for deaths, Cambria reported two more while Somerset reported two less.
According to the Department of Health, 3,863,935 patients have tested negative for the virus.
