The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 1,628 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday, bringing the statewide total to 933,270 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported five more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,026.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,715 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 366 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 61,614 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,585 deaths.
Sixty-three new cases and one more death was reported in our viewing area.
Clearfield reported an increase of 19 new cases, Cambria reported 10, Huntingdon reported eight, Blair reported seven, Centre reported six, Somerset reported five, Bedford and Elk reported three and Elk and Cameron each reported one.
Huntingdon also reported the only local death on Monday.
According to the Department of Health, 3,889,842 patients have tested negative for the virus.
