The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,564 new coronavirus cases in the state Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 935,834 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety-one percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 74 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,100.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,670 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 354 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 61,736 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,590 deaths.
One hundred and twenty-two new cases and three more death was reported in our viewing area.
Cambria reported an increase of 34 new cases, Clearfield reported 24, Centre and Blair each reported 22, Bedford reported seven, Elk reported six, Jefferson reported three and Huntingdon and Somerset each reported two.
As for deaths, Blair reported three more while Cambria and Centre each reported one.
According to the Department of Health, 3,898,167 patients have tested negative for the virus.
