The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,577 new coronavirus cases in the state Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 938,411 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 69 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,169.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,648 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 357 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 61,885 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,593 deaths.
One hundred and forty-nine new cases and three more deaths were reported in our viewing area.
Centre reported 34 new cases, Cambria and Clearfield reported 26, Jefferson reported 25, Huntingdon reported 16, Blair reported nine, Somerset reported six, Elk reported four and Bedford reported three.
As for deaths, Blair, Centre and Somerset each reported one more.
According to the Department of Health, 3,906,535 patients have tested negative for the virus.
