The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 3,028 new coronavirus cases in the state Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 941,439 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety-one percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 50 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,219.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,628 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 350 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 62,046 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,593 deaths.
One hundred and sixty-one new cases were reported in our viewing area.
No new deaths were reported locally.
Centre reported 50 more cases, Huntingdon reported 29, Clearfield reported 28, Cambria reported 18, Blair reported 14, Jefferson reported nine, Elk reported six, Somerset reported four and Bedford reported three.
According to the Department of Health, 3,915,271 patients have tested negative for the virus.
