The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 2,757 new coronavirus cases in the state Friday, bringing the statewide total to 944,196 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety-one percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 43 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,262.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,628 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 350 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 62,218 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,595 deaths.
One hundred and seventy-two new cases were reported in our viewing area along with two more deaths.
Huntingdon reported 53 more cases, Centre reported 43, Clearfield reported 22, Blair reported 17, Cambria reported 13, Bedford reported 11, Somerset reported nine, Jefferson reported three and Elk reported one.
As for deaths, Cambria and Clearfield each reported two.
According to the Department of Health, 3,926,038 patients have tested negative for the virus.
