The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of 1,658 new coronavirus cases in the state Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 948,643 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Ninety one percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
State health officials also reported 32 more coronavirus related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 24,349.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,587 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 314 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There have been 62,463 confirmed cases in our 10 county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,603 deaths.
Ninety-four new cases were reported in our viewing area.
Clearfield reported an increase of 22 new cases, Centre reported 21, Cambria reported 20, Blair reported 19, Huntingdon reported 7, Bedford reported 4 and Jefferson reported one new case.
Additionally, Somerset reported 3 less cases and Elk reported one less case.
No new cases were reported in Cameron County and there were no additional deaths in our viewing area.
According to the Department of Health, 3,942,124 patients have tested negative for the virus.
