The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 1,881 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday, bringing the statewide total to 1,136,057 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Health officials say 88 percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered and 3,200,270 Pennsylvanians have been fully vaccinated.
All adults are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced.
State health officials didn’t report any new COIVD-related deaths Monday.
Pennsylvania’s death toll is 25,988.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,495 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 517 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
There have been 72,951 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,683 deaths.
There were 71 new cases reported in our viewing area Monday.
Clearfield reported an increase of 15 new cases, Huntingdon reported 12, Cambria reported 11, Blair and Centre reported nine, Somerset reported seven, Elk reported five, Bedford reported two and Jefferson reported one.
According to the Department of Health, 4,355,119 patients have tested negative for the virus.
