The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 3,088 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday, bringing the statewide total to 1,075,424 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Health officials say 89 percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered and 2,401,825 Pennsylvanians have been fully vaccinated, as of Monday.
All adults will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine starting Tuesday, April 13, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced.
State health officials reported one more coronavirus-related death Monday, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 25,406.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 2,474 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 534 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
There have been 69,226 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,652 deaths.
There were 108 new COVID-19 cases reported in our viewing are Monday.
Centre reported an increase of 31 new cases, Clearfield reported 25, Cambria reported 16, Huntingdon reported 10, Somerset reported nine, Bedford reported six, Blair and Elk each reported four and Jefferson reported three.
No additional deaths were reported in our viewing area.
According to the Department of Health, 4,232,867 patients have tested negative for the virus.
