The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed an additional 2,219 Coronavirus cases in the state Friday, bringing the statewide total to 190,579 throughout all 67 counties.
Friday’s update is now the highest single-day statewide total.
Seventy-eight percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered.
There have been 8,305 confirmed cases in our viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 86 total deaths.
One-hundred ninety-two new cases were reported in our viewing area.
Centre reported 59 additional cases, Cambria reported 50, Huntingdon reported 27, Blair reported 16, Somerset reported 11, Bedford reported 10, Elk reported 9, Jefferson reported 6 and Clearfield reported 4 new cases.
State health officials reported 33 more Coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 8,625.
Huntingdon reported 3 new deaths and Centre reported 1 additional death.
According to the Department of Health, 2,200,868 patients have tested negative for the virus.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between October 16 and October 22 is 235,737 with 10,840 positive cases. There were 39,757 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., October 22.
