On April 3, 2019, authorities say Eric McCall crashed his car along Old Erie Pike while driving under the influence, killing his girlfriend Christina Metzker.
Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers says McCall’s trial was set to start Tuesday morning but he took a plea deal prior to trial.
Sayers says McCall pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and fleeing a scene.
McCall is currently out on unsupervised bail awaiting his sentencing in June.
“Because he had been doing well and he’s been clean from alcohol checking in, the court did not find it necessary to have him remanded to the jail pending sentencing.”
