One person is dead following a mining accident in Somerset County Wednesday morning, authorities say.
According to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees, the person was injured in a mining-related accident in Hollsopple and was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where the individual died in the emergency room.
Somerset County 911 officials told us that the mining accident happened on the 1200 block of Penn Ave.
They said it was reported that the individual was struck by a rock.
