A former State College Psychologist has been sentenced to decades behind bars after being convicted of child rape earlier this year.

Thats what the Centre County Judge in this case told the Psychiatrist Today as he handed down his sentencing
The last time we saw Richard Lenhart was in August, after a Centre County trial jury convicted him of rape and other sexual assault charges.
He told us he was an innocent man. Wednesday for his sentencing Lenhart has nothing to say as he’s led into court.
Once inside though, he rambled on for 45 minutes, still claiming he’s innocent, saying the victim has a false memory, influenced by the police, her therapist and even the TV show Law & Order SVU in her testimony that Lenhart raped her.
Centre County Judge Julia Rader then sentenced the 63 year old Lenhart to what could be a life of 20-40 years in prison.
The victim was first raped before she was even 8 years old and then assaulted repeatedly for the next several years.
With the victim looking on, the judge told Lenhart she was still in elementary school. She was a child who should have been making snowmen in the backyard, but instead she was being raped
