The FBI believes they have found the body of Gabby Petito in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming on Sunday. Supervising FBI Agent Charles Jones says searchers found human remains consistent with the description of the 22-year-old. Forensics have not confirmed the identity of her body or the cause of death.
The remains were recovered at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area on the East boundary of the Grand Teton National Park. Authorities won’t say how they knew to concentrate on that area of the National Park, but it will remain closed during the ongoing investigation.
Her Parents reported her missing to Authorities on September 11th.
FBI Agent Charles Jones saying: “Earlier today human remains were discovered consistent with the description of Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito. Full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100% that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery. The cause of death has not been determined at this time.”
Meanwhile, the search for her Fiance Brian Laundrie has been called off for the night. Laundrie left his home in Florida on Tuesday and is believed to be camping in Carlton Park, a 25,000 acre Wildlife Preserve near his home.
