Gov’t Shutdown Resolution

Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer announcing Democrats have reached an agreement with Republicans to keep the federal government funded.

He spoke from the Senate floor Tonight.

“We have an agreement on the CR, the continuing resolution to prevent a government shutdown¬† and we should be voting on that tomorrow morning.”

Schumer said the Senate will hold several amendment votes before voting on the continuing resolution.

The House is expected to take up the measure after the Senate.

Funding for the federal government expires at Midnight Tomorrow September 30th. But Democratic leaders have projected confidence there will not be a shutdown.
