One Somerset County man strengthened his passion for creating unique lamps over the past 24 months. One man from Windber is teaching us that it doesn’t matter what stage of life you are in or how old you are, you can always pick up a new hobby or find a new passion. This is what the Pandemic has been looking like for Allen Pruchnic of Windber, making these rustic handmade custom lamps. Allen says the Pandemic has given him more time to craft his hobby, making lamps out of beaver stumps, tree limbs and all things related to the woods. Another Windber Resident does paintings on the lampshades.
Allen says it’s more than a craft, it’s a symbol of life after retirement when life might seem to lose purpose.
