Rescue Crews were back in the icy waters of the Potomac River Friday night searching for the victims of last Wednesday’s plane crash that tragically killed 67 people. According to DC Fire Chief John Donnelly, Authorities have so far recovered 41 sets of remains and have positively identified 28, as of Friday night. Salvage Crews are currently assessing what it will take to remove the aircraft’s fuselage from the water. Donnelly expects to recover all of the bodies. Donnelly saying: “Are we confident we know where the other remains are? And it couples with a question about removing the aircraft. I believe that when we remove the aircraft that will help us resolve this number. If it doesn’t we will continue this search.”
Donnelly says Friday’s operations are largely focused on removing the Black Hawk Helicopter from the water. Additional salvage equipment is expected to arrive on the scene over the weekend.
