Huntingdon Co. Man Arrested for Threats

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Huntingdon, a man is in custody after threatening to kill troopers in Smithfield Township.

State police said they were dispatched to Pike Street on Monday to serve a mental health warrant on 39-year-old Jacob Griffith of Huntingdon. Troopers said Griffith locked himself in his bedroom and threatened to kill anyone in his line of sight, including troopers.

Upon exiting the residence, state police said an arrest warrant for terroristic threats was obtained and SERT was called.

According to authorities, non-lethal tear gas was deployed and Griffith came out. He was taken into custody. No one was injured in the incident.
