Huntingdon County Drug Bust

According to Huntingdon County District Attorney David Smith, one man was arrested during this week’s snowstorm following a drug bust in Union Township.

Authorities say 45 year old Scott Moyer faces charges of drug manufacturing, possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.

According to a criminal complaint, state police in Huntingdon and the PSP SERT Unit executed a search warrant of Moyer’s residence, on Tuesday morning, following a months-long investigation.

Troopers say from Oct. 2020 to Feb. 2021, investigators conducted four controlled buys involving Moyer and the sale of methamphetamine.

On Tuesday, troopers seized approximately 1 to 2 pounds of methamphetamine and multiple loaded firearms, including an AR-15 style rifle, from Moyer’s residence.

Investigators say approximately $8,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Police say Moyer admitted to selling methamphetamine and that everything that was seized belonged to him.

Moyer is currently being house at the Huntingdon County Prison, court dockets show, on $500,000 bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.
