The Pitt Panthers had a rough start to the Johnny Majors Classic. The Tennessee Volunteers not only blocked the punt, but came away with the football. Then, in their very first play on offense, the Volunteers get a touchdown. Tennessee starts of strong unlike Pitt, who went 3 and out for their first 3 possessions.
Pitt gets a touchdown early in the 2nd to make it a 3 point game. In their next possession, Coach Pat Narduzzi goes to the playbook with a trick play to give the Panthers the lead. After 3 straight punts to start the game, the Panthers score on their next 5 possessions of the first half.
The Panthers go on to win the Johnny Majors Classic with a final score of 41 to 34.
