Cambria County residents were encouraged to walk to defeat ALS on Friday.
The Brian Matula Memorial Walk was held in Johnstown Friday in the area of Ebensburg Road.
Donations benefitted the ALS Association’s Western PA chapter.
Matula’s family says while scientists have found seven genes that those who have the disease share, there still is no cure, which is why they are helping raise money for more research.
