The Johnstown BMX state qualifier race was hosted at Highland Regional Park Today.
Hundreds of riders ages 3 to 60 competed by age and proficiency levels. Organizers say these participants traveled to Johnstown from all over Pa. This was one of eight qualifier races in the state from now through August. Organizers say they had an even better turnout than expected.
“I think that’s the biggest thing: everybody is ready to get out, get back to a normal life, have fun, and be ready to put all that past behind us.
“Almost every kid has a bike, and they usually love riding it, so I’d just tell them to come out and give it a try. If they need any help, there’s always someone here to help them.”
There are races held every Thursday night more information is at usabmx.com.
