It’s playoff time in the Johnstown Collegiate Baseball League. In one of the Semi-Final Series, Paul Carpenter Capital Advisors and “O”. PC won Friday night’s opener. In Game 2, “O” gets on the board in the 1st inning of the game. Chasen Claus doubles to left and a run scores making it 1-0 for “O”. Still in the 1st inning, Cole Maranowksi flies out to left and Corey Cavalier scores. It’s a 2-0 lead for “O”, but PC comes back in the 2nd inning as Jordan Sabol hits a fly ball to right and gets to the wall, an inside-the-park homer. PC gets on the board. Still in the 2nd inning, Josh Spiegel hits a shallow fly ball to right and gets by the Right Fielder. He drives in one and scores himself as part of a 4-run inning. “O” came back to tie the game at 4-4 in the middle innings. At the time of recording, PC held a 6-4 lead in the 9th inning.
In the first game of the day, Martella’s Pharmacy took on Laurel Auto Group. Martella’s won last night’s opener, but Laurel Auto Group got a fast start in this game. Austin Price singles to center and a run scores. LAG takes a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning. Later in the frame, Tyler Suder lines a hit into center and another 2 runs score making it 3-0 LAG. Martella’s answers in the 3rd inning as Grant Norris makes a base hit to right and scores a pair of runs. Martella’s was trailing 3-2 before rain delayed the game for about an hour. They got back to playing and Laurel Auto Group won it on a walkoff wild pitch. LAG gets a 4-3 win and they even the series at 1-1.
