Johnstown Salvation Army Closing

The Salvation Army of Cambria County is closing down after plans to move the facility were cancelled. Officials say they planned to move the Johnstown facility in November, but due to unforeseen rental property issues, they were unable to do so. The Center had been operating in the Community since 2013.

Captain Erin Smullen of the Johnstown Salvation Army saying: “Moving in the financial crisis has been very difficult. Its been a burden for a couple years now and they kind of pushed us along with COVID and everything else that added up to all of it. But really, a lack of a suitable facility was the biggest point in making this decision we are at now.”

Officials say despite the closure, they still hope to offer financial aid for dental healthcare for those who are unable to afford it.
