Johnstown police say a woman has been charged after driving drunk and getting her car stuck on train tracks while her child was in the vehicle.
Michelle Tomkosky, 46, is facing charges related to endangering the welfare of children, DUI and reckless driving, according to court documents.
Police say they were called to 632 Railroad Street just after 7 p.m. Tuesday after a passerby reportedly helped Tomkosky move her vehicle from the tracks.
Tomkosky told officers that she had taken a wrong turn and got her car stuck.
Police noted that Tomkosky was slurring her words and smelled like alcohol.
They say she denied having anything to drink that night but agreed to a field sobriety test which police say she failed.
A witness on scene told police that Tomkosky did have her son in the back seat of the vehicle.
Police say Tomkosky was taken into custody and an officer stayed on scene with the child until a family member could come get him.
