On Wednesday, a Cambria County jury convicted a Johnstown man accused of stabbing a woman dozens of times following an alleged argument during a Facebook Marketplace sale last April.
Joshua Gorgone was found guilty on all the charges he faced, including criminal homicide, robbery/theft, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, in the death of 54-year-old Denise Williams.
Police say Williams was found dead inside Gorgone’s Geistown apartment following an apparent argument over the price of a refrigerator that she was attempting to purchase for her boyfriend.
Authorities testified at the trial that Gorgone claimed that Williams had “attacked” him first and that he blacked out during the struggle.
Police say Gorgone then allegedly drove Williams’ car to the West End where he reportedly got rid of her phone and purchased drugs.
Gorgone is scheduled to be sentenced on November 1.
