It’s the anniversary of a memorial being built in Blair County to try and end the stigma around drug addiction and remember those who have died from it.
This monument is located in Tuckahoe Park.
It’s dedicated to those who lost their loved ones from addiction but its also a symbol of hope for those who are still in recovery.
Organizers hope this place could be a spot for families who have lost their loved ones to addiction to not be ashamed of how their loved one died.
It’s also overdose awareness month.
Blair County International Overdose Awareness Day is next Saturday at the Transformation Church in Altoona.
