The Shapiro Administration visited Blair County again on Thursday to promote the Main Street Matters program. They’re touting a $20 Million investment that will go to help new business enhancements, existing facade improvements, curb appeal projects, and more.
Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger is among Leaders who visited with St. Francis University at the Curry Innovation Center in Altoona. Siger saying: “We face more competition than ever to attract residents and businesses, and retain our existing ones. So, to make out downtown as vibrant as possible, to help businesses that maintain the core of our communities and to main streets achieve their full potential as economic hubs, we believe that we have to invest.”
Officials also met with the Owners and Employees of Altoona Taproom, JJ Hadley & Co. Brewers, Wildfire Sustainable Goods and Refillery, and Our Studio-Cafe.
They say Main Street Matters will launch this Fall.
