A local man is facing charges after unintentionally shooting another man in the head while trying to shoot a deer with a handgun across a road. The State College Police Department says Michael Lloyd is charged with Recklessly Endangering another person, shooting and injuring another person while hunting, unlawful shooting on or across a local highway, among other charges.
When Police arrived on scene, they say they found Lloyd and another man attending to the wounded man’s injury. Officials identified the injury as a gunshot wound to the top of his head. According to Police, Lloyd said he and his friend were returning home from hunting when they saw a deer on a hill. He stopped his truck at the bottom of the driveway, go out and shot two or three times.
